Overview

Crafty Fabrics offers many options for quilting instruction from novice to advanced in machine and hand quilting. Our classroom features 6 machines for student use, or you are welcome to bring your own. Everything you need to learn to quilt is here, from cutting mats and rulers to ironing boards and sewing machines.

Our weekday and evening classes are self paced, offering individualized instruction and the ability to select the project and schedule that's best for you.

Our Saturday classes are 4-hour group workshops where everyone works on the same project at once.  Click the Class Schedule link above for our current calendar of classes and the Past Projects link for a sampling of the quilts we've made

Weekday & Evening Classes

Our unique schedule of classes allows you to choose the project you want, on the day or evening that's good for you. You do not have to wait for a starting date for a class to begin. We have up to 6 students per class, each getting individual instruction from the teacher. You work at your own pace and can take as many sessions as you need to finish your project.

Schedule and Fees:

Classes are offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Fridays from 10:00 AM to Noon, and Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Class Fees are $40.00 per month (4 two hour sessions) or $50 for months with 5 sessions (for example, you come on Tuesdays, and there are 5 Tuesdays this month), plus fabrics, supplies and any required books and/or patterns purchased in our store.

Should you wish to buy your fabrics elsewhere or bring them from your stash, the class fees are $72 for 4 sessions or $90 for 5 sessions. No exceptions, please.

You can choose anything from the popular "Quilt in a Day" series (over 50 to choose from) by Eleanor Burns. Here are just a few examples:

Saturday Workshops

Our popular 4 hour Saturday workshops offer group instruction on an "a la carte" basis. You come for the weeks and projects you like. Sessions run from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Bring your lunch or call out. Fees are $20 for each 4 hour session payable at sign up,  plus fabric, books and/or required patterns purchased from our store.

Our Saturday Classes are generally self contained, but we also offer a "Block of the Month" program that allows the student to tackle a larger project, such as the magnificent "Egg Money" bed quilt shown at left, one block at a time.
